My kids, watching Kung Fu Panda, at the scene in which the old kung fu master turtle dude Master Oogway passes away in a burst of orange blossom petals:
Julien: He just died.
Sofia: I don't want to die.
Sofia: Because I have bones.

Awwww, cuteness! It's so difficult for children to grasp death. And how to explain it to them (so they understand) without scaring them. Still working on that one~
ReplyDeleteSome times you needn't go any where with a child's comment. Providing a safe, warm space to express it and continue to explore is wonderful.
