Dreaming in Code: Two Dozen Programmers, Three Years, 4,732 Bugs, and One Quest for Transcendent Software by Scott Rosenberg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dreaming in Code is two things: It's the story of the development of an open-source program called Chandler, through many iterations and troubles, and it's also the story of why software is so hard to write. Clearly written and not too technical, it made me want to learn more about how people write the software that becomes so much a part of our lives.
