Madsen Cargo Bikes

I'm a bit fascinated by these - just recommended my mom look at them for bike commuting needs up in Vancouver. They've got a little contest going; click on over and take a look at them.

Hey, those are pretty cool! Although I think my boys might be a bit too wiggly to sit in the back of one of those, and we'd all go for a nice little spill~

My first thought when I saw the picture was "it needs training wheels". I like the kick stand on it. I purchased an Instep Rocket the morning before I talked to you. It's aluminum; fairly light weight. My tools fit in well. Took it for its first serious outing yesterday: rake, hoe, spading fork, hand tools, purse, jacket, hat and clean laundry to take to Fort Vancouver. The added weight at the back meant very little pedaling down hill. Returning home, up hill, was a challenge. Without the trailer I could take the hills with gears 1 and 4, with the loaded trailer I needed gears 1 and 1 at several points. By the way, our local bike store, Bad Monkey, gave me incredible service.
