Science experiment

Pretty cool photo of the day: The end product of Amber's science program on density (at the library.) Honey, oil and water, seperated into levels, with a grape, a hazelnut, a lego, and a nut on different levels. Wish Julien could have been there for the program!

I always thought this was a fun experiment- and the kids realy love predicting what will float on which level, and especially love when they get it right. If you do this one with Julien, put in the honey first, the oil second and the water third. It's fun to watch the water separate the honey and the oil. Then don't forget to have him make predictions first- then he can be a real scientist!Have fun, and thanks for promoting science on your Blog! :)

What a fascinating experiment...and after the experiment which used clean lego and nuts, the honey, oil, and water may be put in a bowl, the lego and nuts removed, flour, egg, cocoa, chopped nuts, baking powder, etc, added and cupcakes made. More fun in the kitchen.

That's a great idea! Too bad we don't have an oven at work... I always feel bad about wasting the honey (special blackberry honey this time- it was on sale!).
